So we can’t really trust them for Halachic guidance either then….

What is the halachic status of theese "gedolim"? Are they considered rishaim? On the one hand they are "choteh umachte es harabim". On the other hand they truly believe what they are doing is correct. But they also are not willing to entertain the possibility that they are wrong...Are there any practical outcomes of their halachic status?

I consider them personally full of piety but totally unsuitable for leadership. And to me that includes halachic guidance since they are so locked away from society

This is the same when they told the Yidden to stay in Europe and not attempt to leave. All went directly to chambers of gas to be chocked to death, while the Rebes and Rabbonim at the last minute got out. Now they celebrate that day and give thanks to Hashem.

You would imagine and think the community below got smarter, but NO, we do it again and again, and come back for more. The results will be unfortunately be the same. I truly wonder - when these Rabbonim come up to the next world and have to answer, what do they tell God?? Sorry we blew it??

Unfortunately too many people don’t want to think for themselves. It’s so much easier to let someone else make decisions. A Rav with whom I once learned was asked by one of his students which car he should buy. (The Rav’s response; “A decision is a difficult place.” He then left the room.)

I have heard of too many situations in which “Daas Torah”is seemingly a new form of divination. I know several couples who took decisions about whom to marry to total strangers who knew neither party. The results were disastrous. One couple had serious doubts. They were encouraged to marry despite their mutual misgivings. Divorce soon followed.

Learning is not wisdom, piety is not experience,

fear of Heaven is not access to Hashem’s plans.

True leaders don’t use Torah as a wall to keep out the rest of the world. One cannot become a light unto the nations from behind that wall.

We were given the LAND of Israel to live in, to tend, to defend. We were not given a gigantic yeshivah where all of our needs were miraculously met.

Genuine leaders of the Jewish people know “Kol Yisrael arevim zeh lazeh.”
