I have met many non-Haredi people who lack basic economic knowledge. They are always saying things like "The government should pay for this, the government should pay for that, the government should be doing x, y and z for us". I ask from where the government gets money to give away and pay for things and they say "Well, you know, they are the government. They make the money."
I'm being serious here. I believe that more Haredim are guilty of this, but plenty of secular educated people are guilty too. It's a failure of the educational system, and a failure of parenting.
The disillusionment is not limited to Israelis…I have Shomer Shabbat friends who are disgusted. “We are supposed to be better than this,” a friend of mine recently said.
I don’t give a dime to m’shulachim, schools, or Yeshivat that take this stand. Marrying off your child? Need money for that? “Get a job.”
I can’t stop wondering if Charedim are agents (directly, indirectly, knowingly or not of ( even receiving financial support from?)) Israel’s Arab enemies. Might as well be.
They are playing right into their hands.
I guess Charedim ignore the accounts of Avraham, Moses, Joshua, David, Saul, Mordechai, Akiva, etc. in their roles as military defenders of today’s Jews’ ancestors.
I just saw an article recently of a group of “frum” Rabbis returning from Israel after an exploratory trip to encourage Aliyah of their co-religionists. Just what Israel doesn’t need, more Charedim.
Question: Does the Israeli immigration department investigate incoming Charedim as deeply as they investigate gerim?
this is a great place to start. Unfortunately most israelis are so overwhelmed with work,,supporting a family and military/reserve service that they dont have the time nor energy to protest. The charedim with their comfortable taxpayer supported lifestyle do have that luxury. They just STEAL from taxpayers. Their so called thugs disguised as "Rabbis". like Feldman and the others, make up every possible lie and distorsion of truth to justify it. They are like a plague destroying israeli society . So few people, especially other Rabbis, are willing to call them out. These people drive israelis away from judaism completely. Need more brave ideas like yours about this subject
Just in case it needs to be said - any campaign for this would have to prepare themselves for all manner of egregious activities to keep the it from succeeding.
