Pirkei avot has so many passages, that I wonder if they're ever studied in Yeshiva. Wisdom outstripping deeds for example.
I wonder, how would the Haredi react if the Reform movement took this as a chance to institute Reform yeshivot, and argue their students need to receive the same benefits as the Charedi ones?
How does a non-Israeli supporter of Israel and Zionism respond to this reality?
One might reach out to Israel and Israeli politicians and say “if you want our financial support, you can’t let this happen. If this happens; no more support.“
The dire situation in which Israel finds itself since October 7 invalidates this option. It is tragically ironic to think that part of the funds sent to Israel in this time of need goes to people who are willing to sit all day “learning,” and not do anything to help the situation.
They are, in fact, making it worse. Their choices undermine Israeli unity, further dividing society, build resentment, and endanger the lives of every human being, living “between the river and the sea,”
including themselves, their families, their communities, and their precious Torah way of life.
And traitorous politicians let it happen so they can have a few more votes in the Knesset.
This Torah law is another disgrace to Jews and Israel. Its sole objectvie is to steal tax money from taxpayers and to unfairly exempt haredim from assisting in the war effort. It has nothing to do with the Torah. Shame on the haredi leaders and fake "torah sages" who are behind this.
