Let us all keep in mind that Trump is an unreliable ally. We can applaud what he has done, but bear in mind what Trump does is what he perceives as good for himself. Right now our interests coincide with his, and we have the added support of Witkoff, Kushner, and Ivanka Trump. But, he has consistently turned against "friends" when he perceives them as being somehow disloyal.
Your comment is spot on. Yes, President Trump had a very signficant role in achieving the release of the hostages. But let's see who he blames for ruining his peace plan when Hamas won't relinquish their weapons. I do pray I'm wrong.
There is a time when cynicism should be layed aside. We should thank God for sending us Trump. He has shown himself to be the best friend of our people since Cyrus.
Trump stepped in as Hamas was defeated and needed an escape route, which he provided.
As grateful as we all are for the release of the surviving hostages, I have questioned why he hadn’t intervened earlier, and possibly saved more hostages.
The only answer I can come up with is that Hamas wouldn’t “follow Trump’s lead” until they had no alternative. Had he stepped in earlier, he would have appeared lame. I can’t help thinking he, or his advisors, saw an opportunity in Hamas’s desperate situation, and took it.
Granted, his involvement resulted in the release of the surviving hostages, but I perceive it as much more a result of the actions of the IDF, rather than from Trump’s ability to bring any change in the thinking, philosophy, or long range goals of Hamas and its allies.
For the AY to ignore the role of the IDF is contemptible. To rephrase an idea, “ It is better to keep silent and appear wise than open your mouth and prove yourself a fool.” In this case, the worst type of fool, an ungrateful one.
My heart is filled with relief for the survivors and their families, but it is also broken by the reality of the whole story.
I struggle with tears and fears for those who were not returned on this eve of Shemini Atzeret.
Where are the women? Have they been murdered to hide the crimes committed against them? Are we being told they are dead, as they are carted away to an unknown location in done Muslim country? What do we say to their families and loved ones, and where will they find solace if the remind “cannot be found?”
And the response of some parts of the the religious community(including parts of the one I live in) who ignore the dictum
,כל ישראל ערבים זה בזה
and ignore the heroism, struggles, and losses of the IDF make me wonder how in God’s name I could ever enter certain synagogues again, or why I ever did….
And have NONE of the “International Wonen’s Rights” organizations NOTICED that no women came home today?
And I have to be so cautious about what I say and to whom I say it…
In the US it doesn't seem that religious Jews i.e. Chareidim feel that their lives are the least bit impacted by the sacrifice of the IDF soldiers. When will they wake up!
It’s interesting that the help for Israel(which is really help from G- d for Israel) is by a deeply flawed individual-which has happened similarly in our past history . Is there perhaps a lesson for us all and perhaps most of all for our so-called Gedolim. ?
We have no right to expect any more from AY than they have proffered. Let us forego the cynicism and be grateful to the IDF and Bibi and Trump and his cohorts. Chag Sameach.

Me too. Thanks for the feedback.

Luckily I know a few individuals.

Sad. I also noticed that several Charedi MK’s did not stand for any of the speeches.
Keep up the good work- literally: YK.
Their press release is outrageous in its omission.
Does anyone have an email address for Agudat Yisrael? (Not that they care how many furious emails they receive)
And are you….surprised…???
