Would you ever consider making a Feast in Israel only using biblically indigenous Vegetarian ingredients plants fruits veggies and seasonings? Like Jacob’s Lentil soup. So many people are vegetarian or vegan (I’m not) would appreciate attending. Also the cost would be less and more would come. Also it would be more biblically accurate as most people ate meat only on holidays as it was so expensive.

Unfortunately I don't see that ever being viable. But we sometimes serve such things along with the regular irregular food.

Any guess why the fava (broad) bean is so identified with Egypt (Chazal call it "pul Mitzri"), while the lentil gets a strong appearance everywhere from the Tanach to the Gemara as a staple?

Plenty of wild pigeons in Los Angeles. Could've saved some money and time.

Thank you for opening up this article for reading/commenting. I'm sympathetic to the trade off of subscription only - increased oversight and revenue vs. drastic drop-off in readership.
