As I think about it at least regarding myself, just because someone has a rational side doesn't mean that they don't have any other aspects to themselves, whether emotions, or neshmah(deeeper than emotions). One can be awed by nifloas haborei and still be a rationalist !

Have you seen this review of Dr. Schroder's book by Yoram Bogacz?
Yes. 1. His critique of Schroeder's theological assertions/ interpretations of Torah sources are, for the most part, spot-on. 2. His attacks on evolution lack any credibility. 3. This statement: "Even a rudimentary acquaintance with traditional Torah sources reveals the breathtaking superiority of those individuals over our impoverished abilities" shows that he has a very selective acquaintance with traditional Torah sources. Rambam, Rabbeinu Bachya, etc., did not hold of any such thing. 4. His ideas about the laws of nature having been different in the past are hopelessly naive.
(I could write a much more detailed critique, but I don't have the time.)
I know rationalists believe in the miraculous in terms of fortuitously-timed natural events, but is it appropriate to wish "Mazel Tov" to a rationalist? Is it not insulting? I thought the Rambam declared the the influence of good or bad "mazalos" to be imaginary?
